JOSH JACOBS
WRITER/DIRECTOR


Josh Jacobs is an LA-based filmmaker and TV writer.
After graduating from Yale in 2015 with a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, he worked at WME and then as a director's assistant to David Lowery before moving into the world of TV writers rooms. His credits include the features The Old Man & The Gun (Fox Searchlight, 2018) and Never Goin' Back (A24, 2018), two seasons of Strange Angel (Scott Free / CBS All Access, 2018-2019), season 1 of the Amazon Prime Video conspiracy thriller series The Terminal List, and the Peacock limited series A Friend of the Family. He just co-wrote his first episode of television and is currently script coordinating on Chucky Season 3 for SyFy.
His most recent short film The Jungle was selected for the 2021 Austin Film Festival. The film stars Matthew Barnes (Atlanta; Little Fires Everywhere).
Videos he has written for the Facebook/Snapchat series TXT Stories have accumulated several million views. He has also been hired to direct narrative content for organizations such as Pfizer Inc. and Yale Admissions.
